GLOBAL INNOVATIVE FUNDS is a Social Relief of Distress Grant in conjunction with FACEBOOK in its administered in terms of section 32 of the Social Assistance Act. In response to the economic and social challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the G.I.F Grant was further expanded to include specific relief efforts targeting individuals and communities severely impacted by the crisis. This initiative was designed to offer immediate, short-term support to those who faced job losses, income reduction, or heightened vulnerability due to the pandemic.

During this period, global media platforms also played a significant role in raising awareness and facilitating the distribution of funds. These platforms were used to reach a broader audience and to ensure that information about eligibility and access to the grant was made widely available. In some cases, funds were disbursed to a selected group of eligible individuals through digital and community-based outreach, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the allocation of relief.

This collaborative approach helped extend support to those most in need during the pandemic and reinforced the role of technology and media in social assistance programs.

Global innovation grant is administered in terms of section 32 of the Social Assistance Act, 2004 (Act No. 13 of 2004) and is implemented with the concurrence of the Minister of Finance.The Global innovative grant is meant for United state 🇺🇸 , Canada 🇨🇦,Australia 🇦🇺, South Africa  🇿🇦  and Netherland Citizens  Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Special Permit Holders who are between the ages of 40 and 89 years, who have insufficient means, who do not receive social grants on behalf of herself/ himself or who are not contributing to or eligible for UIF payment, and have no financial support from any other source.
